Jared, once again, appears before Wanderer just as she’s making her way to see Doc. Despite her feelings for Ian, Wanderer still holds very strong feelings for Jared. But all she wants to do right now is to be alone for the ‘last few moments of her life’. Jared won’t allow that and insists that there must be something that he can do for Wanderer. At the very least, he wants to go with her and be there during the procedure, but she won’t let him. All she wants from Jared is for him to take care of her family. He agrees, but asks again what Wanderer wants. “Give me a lie, Jared. Tell me you want me to stay.” ..And then, they have their moment, whilst Melanie tries to avoid getting in between them. Wanderer pulls back, but Jared isn’t finished…
Finally, Wanderer makes her way to see Doc. She tells Jared to stay behind and that she’ll tell Doc to come get him when it’s over and when Melanie is back. When Wanderer goes into the hospital-y room, Doc is already setting up and already crying. A sleeping Kyle with a motionless Jodi and Sunny’s cryotank are nearby. After a brief interlude where Doc reveals his actual name is Eustace (really random), Wanderer commands Doc to make her unconscious. He still doesn’t want to do it, but she reminds him that he gave her his word.
“You are the noblest, purest creature I’ve ever met. The universe will be a darker place without you,” Doc tells her. Melanie thanks her, they say a goodbye, and finally Wanderer drifts away… The end?
