Meet the Staff

Yes, we are the oh-so-wonderful team behind this site. Let us introduce ourselves…

Staff
Name: Lindsey
The Host alter-ego: Sunny
Age: 22
Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Favorite Character: …Ian
Favorite Couple: must I only choose one?
Me & Why I love The Host: I’m a college student majoring in English and minoring in Music & Book/Media history. I live on Earth, but I like to spend time thinking about unearthly things (like dragons or faeries, for example). I like stories about humans put into crazy, out of this world situations and I have a great fascination with anything that has to do with outer space. Of course, that includes The Host. A story about an alien invasion tied in with romance? There was no way I could refuse and now it’s one of my favourite books.
Elisabeth on Lindsey: Lindsey is simply one of the sweetest people I know. You know how nice she is, but she’s constantly out-doing herself with kindness. Perhaps even more importantly in our case, however, Lindsey is reliable. Not in a dog-geyser-person way, but in a you know if she said she was going to do it she will do it and have it done on time way. She has works harder than anyone on this team. Not only that, but she’s always the first one to volunteer to do more when someone else doesn’t hold up their end. She could not be a better person to have on your side, in all respects.
Name: Elisabeth
The Host alter-ego: Wanderer
Age: 25
Location: Washington, D.C., USA
Favorite Character: Wanderer! (Wanda and Pet are such horrible nicknames.)
Favorite Couple: Ian/Wanderer, though I like many of the couples
Me & Why I love The Host: I’m a recent college graduate and now would describe myself as “professionally sick.” In my time off from school (before I’m hopefully able to go on to graduate school in biology), I’ve become enamored of more than one fantasy/sci-fi series. My love of Twilight and interest in the fandom led me to read The Host, though I was a bit wary at first. Thank goodness I got over that because I love The Host so much and even think it’s better than the Twilight series now. (Shocking!)
Lindsey on Elisabeth: Elisabeth says that her favourite character in The Host is Wanderer and that she strives to be like her, but in my eyes, she doesn’t have to strive for this because she already is just like Wanderer; kind, respectful, and truly a good person. She is also the busiest worker bee ever and the awesomeness of this site is evidence of that.

The Host alter-ego: Lily
Age: 24
Location: Utah, USA
Me & Why I love The Host: I have been in love with fantasy and science fiction books almost since I learned how to read. I remember being about 7 years old, and elbowing the other little girls out of my way so that I could get to the fairy-tale section of my elementary school’s library first. I am a die-hard Star Trek nerd; I watched ‘The Next Generation’ every week without fail when I was growing up. In my opinion, the way The Host blends sci-fi and romance together so seamlessly is what makes it unique and powerful. It adds an element of realism to the story that just sucks you in, and makes you think about all of the different themes of love and longing that the characters experience. I just love it.
